Hi Sorry 嘉嘉,

If you don't mind me stealing this thread, I like to find out more about tripod as well.
I am researching on Tripod too. I am hoping to buy a china brand or real brand carbon fibre one in Hong Kong. (~Oct)
I have diff needs compare to 嘉嘉's tho.
Most likely use it for taking night shots, birds, cars, and whereever I need longer exposure for the shot. I don't like shooting pictures of people and not even group photos...

I do travel and I need a light weight one. I planned to get the "head" for easy mounting and unmounting.

My camera is light (Pentax K-x) but I do plan to use the longer lense (55-300) with the tripod.

I do prefer to get mine under $300...

Hong Kong actually~ 深水埗鴨寮街 because there are so many "Benro 代理舖s" there. Price was $1780. ...

Fu Lay in 鴨寮街 sell Benro at the lowest price ..  ( can negociate )

$1780 is 公價. I think they got the price on benro.hk. So hard to get cheated. Any lo ...

I bought the A1681 + B-0 Combo at 旺角星際 for $1200. It is not carbon but is still pretty light, on ...

The convert to monopod sounds interesting!!! Cos I prob need to use monopod for taking auto-x shots. ammmm.
I need to find out how light is it... cos I planned to travel and walk whole days carrying the tripod and I am not strong.

I came back and I got SICK in HK.... I was too tired to go to 鴨寮街 alone. So on my last shopping day, I finally forced myself out the door and grap a friend who doesn't know anything with photography (but she had the day off!).
We went to 旺角星際 and after walking through all the stores, I can only find A1681 and A1691 in one store (no sign of any C model at 星際 and no sign of Benro in any CWB or Wan Chai or Central malls ).
I ended up getting the A1681 + B-0 Combo for $1230.
I didn't get as many misc gears as I hoped to for this trip.

Oh ..  you didn't get the C0680?  My buddy just bought a set, $1600 HKD .. pretty good deal.

I wanted teh C0680 but I couldn't find it in Mong Kwok.... And I really don't have the energy to go to Ip Liu Street.

Yeah the A1681 is more heavy duty than I needed it. But that's the only thing I can find.
