Burnaby!
It's closer to some places that I like to go (e.g. restaurants )
Richmond is convenient for things like a quick meal at places you don't care and to play badminton.
And I will miss the CanadaLine if one day I move to burnaby.

live = Burnaby

haha I guess I dont' like food in Richmond... except a few places.
Most places I like to eat at are in Vancouver but it's too expensive to live there (e.g. Kits area) and burnaby has more ethical food. (turkish, korean, italian, malaysian...etc)
For casual eating out, we like pho and taiwanese noodle and burnaby has lots of options for us.
I don't do much shopping so the mall isn't a concern to me.

Or even better somewhere on Vancouver Island or in the Okanagan.

I don't know... I guess food is a big factor.
I feel that I am kind of forced to have more Chinese food since I live in Richmond....

I personally prefer to eat non-chinese at least non-cantonese when I eat out unless I am sick.

There is no good casual sandwich places or small Italian resturants in Richmond unless I go all the way down to Steveston. I think driving to Cambie or Main is closer vs Steveston.

    不喜歡粥粉飯麵,點心?
fibbi 發表於 2010-11-16 04:21 PM

It's hard to go to 點心 for 2 people. So I go like 10 times a year or less. (including lunch dim sum at work sometimes) Since I went to HK this year, dim sum times may excess 12 this year. Went twice in three weeks.

I HATE 粥. My boyfriend cannot eat shrimp so we seldom go to wanton noodle place.
We only frequent Pho or Taiwanese noodle places.

I am OK with regular 飯麵 but where to eat them in Richmond??? For two only and we don't like HK style cafe food.

I can't eat at 鳳鳴. I react to their brand of MSG used...
I said I ate pho and Taiwanese noodle all the time cos there are no other choices in Richmond.
If I am in bby or Vancouver, I rather have Malaysian, Thai, Korean, Italian, sandwiches, Turkish...etc food.

Real Italian food isn't really that oily. The authentic pasta has very little sauce/oil to coat them. I hate american style pasta that is drown in sauce.I have to admit that I love spicy hot food. And also food with lots of herbs and that I can't get in Cantonese food.btw I love Indian food too and I think Richmond isn't bad for that.
Anyway back to living area. I still prefer bby because things seem to more diversify.

People who never live in Richmond, Vancouver or Burnaby will be hard to tell which one is better. It is a very personal preferences. my 2 cents..吳孟達 發表於 2010-11-17 09:52 AM

I live/lived in all 3 cities. Actually I briefly lived in Coquitlam as well (1 month in between movings). So I know how it is living in Burnaby.
Well, same as in Richmond now, I avoid Metrotown and Kingsway area on weekends.
btw, earthquake isn't my reason of picking Burnaby.

haha I don't like 熱鬧 unless I am hanging out with my friends.
I like North Vancouver. If houses are cheaper and event if I work DT, I would pick it over actual DT.
too bad, I work in Richmond.... @@
