Pork Hoc is 豬手.
We went to Black Forrest in 2006 (with some lyks) and had a good meal there. Well it's a German restaurant and we don't have a lot of that in lower mainland. But we didn't order the pork hoc. I think we all order some kind of veal dish. And it's pretty good back then.

Also information from 2006, we had lunch at a small fish and chips/breakfast place. I think the owner is Korean.
The fish and chips was pretty good. I think the name is Lakeview cafe but I am not 100% sure.

I think black forrest is expansive and recent reviews of it doesn't look that good...
Lakeview is reasonable, very casual and a great brunch/breakfast spot.

We went to Lakeview restaurant for lunch after we arrived.


We order fish and chips and I think they are not as good as I remember. The fish is not very fresh and slice is very thin and soft. May be Halibut is better. I think they used to have cod on the menu, now it's just choice of regular or Halibut.

We went to Black Forest for dinner and also ordered the escargot.
We both ordered beer to go with our food:

My main was the Pork Hock!! Skin was so crispy with the good fatty pork ammm.

My bf ordered the traditional veal. Pretty good too. As usual, he also had half of my main.

We had breakfast buffet at the Lakeside cafe inside the hotel because it's included in our room charge. It's OK la. with the regular egg, bacon, Benedict, french toast, lots of fresh fruits and 3 kinds of juices. We skip lunch after this late breakfast.

We also saw hummingbirds from the hotel's lounge (not open in the morning but we can sit there and watch the birds going for the feeder)
