A karaoke restaurant with a history of run-ins with liquor inspectors is singing the blues.
Officials have stripped the Fuku San Izakaya Japanese Restaurant of its liquor licence after it reached the last straw with liquor inspectors.
:
The restaurant, in No. 3 Road's Parker Place mall, held a food primary licence, which allowed the sale and consumption of all types of liquor with a primary focus on the service of food. Booze sales were permitted between 11 a.m. to midnight seven days a week in its dining room and several private karaoke rooms.
:
In 2008, the branch added conditions to the licence, requiring video equipment installed with records available to police and liquor inspectors upon request.
But the manager couldn't produce any videotape for liquor inspectors of the Dec. 24 inspection.
