I found they are all the same but as long as I cannot detect MSG inside the soup and I am happy.  Another reason why I like this restaurant was that they have noodle soup for non-beef eater such as my ...

I tho all Pho restaurants have chicken noodle soup as well. btw... howz the rice noodle in the pho at this place across from save-on? They used to be good but we went a few times (1 or 2 years ago?!) and found that they switched to a "rougher" and "hong" tasting noodle. We stopped going since then.

tip: add some spring roll sauce (mostly... fish sauce) on "hong" tasting noodle can neutralize a lot of the yucky taste.

Chinese style soup base is very diversified.

BUT when I go to a Vietnamese restaurant for a Vietnamese pho, I want the right soup.
Same as:
When I go to a Chinese restaurant for a Chinese noodle soup... I don't want a Vietnamese beef soup base!!!
