yeap! same for me. small portion is acutally a PLUS for me. So I don't feel bad not finishing the bowl or ramen.
I like 山頭火 and Meya (more home style).
I still haven't try Benkei on Broadway. Someone I knew told me that it's horrible... so I didn't want to try.
btw... I only care about the soup, the noodle and the vegetables... amm... may be the egg...
I seldom care about the meat included...
If my bf comes with me, I usually give him half of the meat in my ramen.

Did you have their Nagahama Ramen or other ones?
The Nagahama noodle is thinner... may be that's why it has less "flour" taste.
btw I prefer "flour" taste vs "soap water" taste...
