Really, none of them (EDC and all gals) need to come out to say anything at all..... unless they still want to stand a position in the industry. They can simply retire and hide somewhere, nothing need to say or explain or apologize. But the reality is, they need to gain more money, the audiences' money, and so they have to do something in order to comfort/please/settle down their valuable audiences/fans and gain their reacceptance.
For example, if PG hide back at her home and doesn't come out and involves in the industry again, I would say her confession is more likely to be real and true to her heart. In other words, if she's gonna come out and step in the industry again in the very near future, then what she did today was probably her plan ahead.

For example, digging a nose hole is not a guilt at all (and actually everyone needs to do it once a while), but it will definitely give a bad image if a Miss HK doing it in the public.

Then what's so wrongful for a male artist having sex with many different female artists under their own privacy and agreement? Really, my answer is negative. I am not that naive and silly to think if the image of the artists are promoted to be pure and innocent and so do their real lives are like that. However, once the "secret" (their real personalities) is being exposed, people (their loyal fans) used to have all kinds of sweet fantasy would wake up from their dreams (simply as, why there would be less fans/supporters for certain artists after they get married).
And of course depends on what category of the image they're being promoted/built, such as pure virgin type, rock & roll punk, family man, good mother.... etc.

The problem is, most of the gals in the case have been promoting to be "pure virgin" type, but then the public realize they enjoy casual sex a lot, which is a big lie to all loyal fans. That's why so many people got angry, upset and regret for the money they spent on their false idols. In order to gain back all the fans'/sponsors' love (simply say money), those artists must figure out a touching and convincing presentation to their "rice boss". And thus a "表態" is needed. Gill was just the first one to play this gamble and lost (well, might not be her own idea but her company behind though). Since Gill's approach/presentation was an apparent failure, now PG tried to use a different way, with different touching background ("a kind-hearted mom" and a "good wife" and "good daughter-in-law"...etc) in a different timing, hoping to gain more positive feedbacks, which some people think it's too fake and insincere.

If I were one of them, I would say:
Yes, I am just a normal human, please don't look at me as a perfect super star. I have my own private life behind the screen, which my privacy never hurt any other people at all. Since I am an actor/actress, it means I will need to hide my real myself and to act as close as to the role I need to act for. If I act as a prostitute, and everybody agrees I did very well and even I grant the Oscar Award, will you guys think my real life is really that messy and I will sleep with all men because of money? That's the real meaning of acting. My fans should enjoy my professional performance and actually that's what they worth to pay for, but not my real life which my real life could be totally another story.
Here, I would like to apologize to my beloved fans if my private matter did upset any of you. However, please focus on my profession acting rather than my actual life, which I can be sure my future acting will be lots more interesting and attractive than the actual me. Thanks you all for letting me to express my sharing to you.
