被塞滿在籠子裡，等待被運送販賣宰殺的各種犬隻

今年3月24日，韓國首都--首爾市政府對外發表了「狗肉衛生管理政策」，將「狗」列為家畜項目，並預計在4月份韓國國會大選結束，於5月舉辦相關聽證程序後，隨即向中央政府提議修改「畜產品加工處理法」，正式立法將狗納入畜產食用項目。為此，韓國動保團體曾於3月25日、26日集結在首爾市政廳前表達強烈抗議。

多年來致力教育韓國民眾不要將狗當作「肉用動物」的當地動保組織，眼見局勢岌岌可危，除了不斷在國內施壓及抗議外，並緊急求助亞洲社會，希望如台灣、泰國曼谷、馬尼拉等已立法禁止食用狗貓肉的國家，以及沒有食用狗貓肉問題的新加坡、日本、印度……等，能共同向韓國政府及社會發聲，請韓國政府千萬不要做出錯誤的決策，讓人類文明發展後退！
台灣動物社會研究會（EAST）、犬髖關節狗友會、倡導禁吃狗肉並推動立法成功的立法委員王幸男、田秋菫與來台為同伴動物尋求聲援的兩個韓國動保組織─維護地球動物權益協會（CARE）、韓國動物保護聯盟（KAAP），於4月8日上午10點在NGO會館共同召開記者會，會中公佈韓國慘不忍睹的飼養、販賣及屠殺狗的影片及相片；維護地球動物權益協會（CARE）代表朴素妍說：韓國的肉狗飼養繁殖場，環境髒亂不堪，狗的食物來源是廚餘及發霉的麵包，一般公狗在被飼養七個月後就被販售屠宰，而母狗則會被配種繁殖個2-3胎後被屠宰。許多農場為了制止狗警戒吠叫的天性，在狗小的時候，會用針刺狗的耳朵，以破壞狗的聽力，如此就可避免狗因警戒而吠叫。此外，由於狗有空間領域性，為了防止狗爭吵，從飼養到運輸到市場販售的鐵籠，都可以看到狗被強塞到幾乎無法動彈，許多狗甚至被凹折成「U」字型的塞入鐵籠內！而不只土狗被做為肉用，就連約克夏、可卡、馬爾濟斯等小型犬也被拿來食用。一般一隻狗從農場販賣出來的價格大約為3-5萬韓元（約台幣1500元），在被屠宰賣到市場後，一斤肉約可賣到1700韓元（約台幣60元），而一整隻大黃狗則可以賣到15-20萬韓幣（約台幣6700元）！
  
狗的領域性非常強。為了防止狗爭吵或互咬，在運輸時，業者需將鐵籠塞滿狗，讓牠們動彈不得。幾乎每隻狗都被塞成「U」字形！  目前韓國狗肉一斤約可賣到1700韓元（約台幣60元），一整隻大黃狗則可以賣到15-20萬韓幣（約台幣6700元）。
  
消費者在市場上「挑狗肉」。  代宰犬隻籠子上，放著兩隻狗屠體。對具有靈性的犬科動物而言，是多大的折磨？。

人類的肉類蛋白質來源已經很足夠，不久前的SARS疫情，正是人類意慾擴大肉食對象所招致的危機！不論從任何角度來說，「飲食文化」已不是要將狗立法成為肉用動物可被國際社會接受的藉口！
朴素妍並說：1984年時，首爾市有關狗肉的法規，明文記載著─狗肉是不潔的食物，所以禁止流通販售；但一直以來，首爾市對不法販售狗肉的業者並沒有執法取締，任其發展的結果導致業者更加猖獗，每年約屠殺200萬隻狗，首爾市府實在難辭其咎。但現在為了要規避責任，竟乾脆主張將販售狗肉合法化，實在是荒謬可惡。韓國新任總統李明博ㄧ上台便強調政策的全球化，但在面對狗肉問題時，卻退化到未開化的原始時代。目前韓國約有1千萬人口將狗視為伴侶飼養，若政府真的將狗納為食用家畜，不僅將造成更多虐待動物案件，更是全世界絕無僅有的立法，也將在國際形象上讓韓國人蒙羞，甚至可能帶來貿易、經濟上的損失。

韓國動物保護聯盟代表李元福也說：當前人類的環境，不論是牛肉、豬肉、雞肉，都面臨狂牛症、口蹄疫、立百病毒、禽流感……等各式人畜共通疾病的威脅，韓國刻正面臨嚴重禽流感疫情失控問題，在現有肉類食品的安全都已亮起紅燈的狀況下，認為狗肉只要宰殺過程衛生乾淨即可安心食用的想法真是大錯特錯！因此不論從疾病預防、健康風險以及尊重生命的角度，韓國政府都應即刻制定禁止食用及販售狗肉的政策，同時採輔導方式，逐步讓狗肉產業式微！

ok ok, let me narrow this down, im only trying to answer the question u previously posted.

As long as the raising and slaughtering processes are reasonable, what is the difference?

the problem is that raising and slaughtering methods are inhumane, so what would happen if the they legalized dog meat? more and more dogs will be killed. Have u not seen the dogs' living conditions and methods of slaughter by hanging? not only hanging is done but there are more unimaginable inhumane methods of killing these dogs. like boiling them alive. is that a painless or reasonable method of killing? NO

Raising method - not reasonable (they are fed decayed bread and kitchen waste(餿水), several dogs fenced in 1 small area and the "farmers" do not clean their wastes)

Slaughtering Method - hanging to death. (u can argue its a painless method). what about other unimaginable killing methods? boiling alive in water?

Currently 2 million dogs are killed every year.

Cause - probably 10 million dogs will be treateed like that in the above few statements.

would u say that its a culture for eating dogs. just because they almost starved to death during the korean war, thus they had to kill their family pet in order to survive, does not make it a culture. that is clearly their excuse for eating dogs, not a culture

Yet, they talk about eating dogs will give more male virility, but there are no scientific records of it.

ok let me put it in another perspective

if u have realised where SARS originated from, u should understand it was from civet cats that were killed and eaten in Guangdong. This has being officially stated by scientific experiments and analysing, not a bullshlt i'm trying to make up. So what is the chances of another big spread of viruses from dogs (not to mention 狂吠病 already exists in the eastern world) that are eaten in Korea. VERY HIGH.

so wouldn't eating these dogs affect the whole world? not just for the dog lovers but also for, if another big spread of virus, should annihilate a few several thousands of innocent people.
