What's happening is that China is progressing so fast that so many foreigners are feeling jealous. The Chinese people are getting much better overall standard of living.

This is just a small incident. Police using excessive force can happen anywhere. Foreign reporters do not even care to report 50,000 people queuing up for tickets.
But those reporters HK reporters usually are the instigators when reporting the little issues.

China is waging economic warfare to get their resources, so why don't people cut them ...

The Olympics sponsors paid billions of dollars for advertising their name and for broadcasting rights. So the host country only needs to pay for part of the cost. It is not a waste of money at all, since after the Olympics you get to keep all the facilities.

There were a few IOC members who accepted bribes before, but they cleaned up the process already. The money spent on measures to clean up the pollution are actually good for long term development.
