You are inaccurate. Please study more world history.
The Diaoyu islands were illegally given to Japan after the WWII by the US. China didn't give those islands.
Therefore, it is Japan that is occupying those islands, with the backup support of their US masters whose aim is to create problems in Asia.
Protests will expose to the world the hidden transactions between the US and Japan.

Canada recognizes Taiwan province as part of China.

The government of the Republic of China regards Taiwan province as part of the ROC.
