Are you kidding? With Hong Kong's aging population, HK government may not be able to pay out such large amounts of money to the seniors in the future. Those with sufficient cash in the bank or income should not get all of it. Welfare should only be paid to those needy seniors. You know, HK already has a much lower tax rate than Canada.
When you want to bash HK, please do more research first. Here in Canada, the amount of Old Age Security given to seniors is based on their reported income. Are you saying Canada should not look at their income first?

You should go to Ottawa, and start throwing bananas at the politicians, since the government looks at reported income before deciding how much Old Age Security to give out. You lost your argument again and still pretend to be smart. But what's new, that's your style.

If you look at the last 10 years of HK government balance, it is not big. Because HK's tax rates are low. They tend to have large surplus for good years and big deficits for bad years.
