That's why Hong Kong's public and private health care system is better than many other places. Both rich and poor get what they need. Hong Kong's financial system is also better than Canada's overly conservative approach and the uncontrolled capitalism in the US.

Except that HK hardly pumps any $$ into their public healthcare system, thus effectively creating a system of have's and have not's:

(from the HK 明愛 incident back in December)

You are the one who should STFU now. Hong Kong's tax rates are way lower than in the US, UK and Canada. They don't even have GST/PST. With tax rates so low, how are they going to pump adequate money into public health care and welfare?

That's why there is a huge reserve.
Waiting for something to happen.
Let those poor die and the problem is solved.

Please learn more before you spew crap. Hong Kong does have one of the lowest infant mortality rate and one of the longest life expectancy in the world. These two are indicators of their high quality health care.

When people in HK choose not to raise a child anymore, choose only live together having no babies. the infant mortality rate will be ZERO. A world record. SILLY

You are so smart, to realize that people in many countries like Japan and Canada, have low birth rates. When you know nothing about infant mortality rates, just don't comment. You are just embarrassing yourself.

Hong Kong's tax rates are way lower than in the US, UK and Canada. They don't even have GST/PST. But they are still able to deliver good health care.

If we just pick some examples, we can pick the many mishaps that happened right here. Hong Kong should raise the tax rates if the people want better welfare.

While you're at it,我 ...

You think Obama is smart. He is just borrowing money from China. A few years down the road, the US will be saddled with trillions more of debt which need to be paid down over the next few decades.

This is still early in the game, we don't even know how long the recession will be. We will see which countries are the winners over the next few years.

Lik, Hong Kong has lots of cash, way better than Canada where you have to pay off the debt, at all levels of government, over the next few decades. Hong Kong government is among the smartest in the world. Look at the US, UK, Japan, Canada and Eastern Europe, they are all crumbling now.
