BTW, just for comparison, I think HKers used to holding hope (not desperate) in the old days (pre 97') than recent times (post 97')... An obvious difference a normal HKer can tell..

This is nonsense. The 1980s and early 1990s were the high economic growth period of Hong Kong.
There is no place in the world that can maintain high growth. When the Hong Kong economy reaches maturity, the slower growth rate is just normal.
A developing HK during the 1980s is very different from a mature developed HK now. We cannot compare two different stages of development.
You need to understand economics and social developments. |
