We need to keep the Chinese community strong. The Indians are trying to swamp the world.

你估家陣係蠱惑仔開片,晒馬鬥人多咩?

不過以你 Peter哥啲水準,思想依然停留響「人多好辦事」呢個層次都算係咁㗎喇~

You stupid moron, it is the western media that have been claiming, that China's aging population will be a problem for economic development in the future, while India's surging population will allow India to overtake China. I don't totally agree with that point of view, mainly because the western media is clearly touting India against China, out of jealousy of Chinese rapid improvement and in an attempt to bash the Chinese.

We all know why Lik is bashing Hong Kong, because he is just jealous of HK's success.

If you have any common sense at all, you can foresee how the One Child Policy is gonna affect every single aspect of life in China. The policy started in the 70's, so assuming that a couple hav ...

You stupid moron, Hong Kong is one of the most successful places in the world these days. During the Asian financial crisis, most other Asian countries, except China, did worse than Hong Kong. The financial crisis started in places like Korea and Thailand etc.
Very soon, Hong Kong will announce their budget surplus for the year, when most other countries (like the US, Japan, many countries in Europe) are either bankrupt, or heavily in debt and run big budget deficits. In the US, they have 20% of their property owner that owe more than their property is worth, also known as "negative equity".  Over a hundred banks in the US went bankrupt last year.
In Canada, the PM is so scared about the budget deficit that he prorogated the parliament. For India, they could not even afford to buy matching uniforms for their Olympics team. How are they going to solve their illiteracy problem?

LOL~ I can't believe you are trying to distort historical facts now. Is that what they teach you to do at the 10 cents club training school?

Lik, you should get your facts straight now. It was because your British imperial government that didn't develop Hong Kong's hightech industry, unlike in Taiwan and Korea, that contributed to Hong Kong's situation during the Asian financial crisis. Anyway, countries like Korea and Thailand near went bankrupt during the financial crisis, while HK was able to maintain its financial stability.

Now, as one of the most successful cities in the world, Hong Kong runs a budget surplus, unlike the US, Japan, UK and most of Europe and Canada, which are either near bankrupt, or heavily in debt or running big budget deficits.

Of course you ignore the fact that, in the US, they have 20% of their property owner that owe more than their property is worth, also known as "negative equity".  More than a hundred banks in the US went bankrupt last year.
In Canada, after asking for more tourists from China, the PM is so scared about the budget deficit that he prorogated the parliament. For India, they could not even afford to buy matching uniforms for their Olympics team. How are they going to solve their illiteracy problem?

It seems you are getting the point here. I understand that in Hong Kong their welfare program may not be as good. It looks like for most countries, they have to borrow money in order to pay out social welfare. When they go bankrupt in the future, they will then have to cut back their spending.
That is why, I don't think it is fair when you say Hong Kong is not successful. Hong Kong is just practicing fiscal responsibility, instead of putting the burden on future generations. Hong Kong has US$230 billion of foreign reserves.

The money has to come from somewhere. Hong Kong can spend big on social welfare if they just run deficits and borrow more money. But the would be irresponsible.
