As for price, it is like yaletown, but this is no yaletown... it is right next to river and also a commercial/industrial zone.

Also, i believe that u have to sign a waiver for the possible noise that you may experience.

In terms of engineering for the crappy soil underneath, i won't comment too much (due to liability issue).  I just won't buy even if the price is fair.

Er... the sinking problem you are talking about is a static problem.  This could be forseen and taken care of if proper engineering assessment was done before construction.  This is actually a very easy problem to deal with, esp. with the experience encountered at the oval.

WTF... how does water keep running into it?  Do you even know what you are talking about?

wow... care to explain how the developments in that area affect the road surface?

btw... just FYI, some area in burnaby has something that is even softer than the organic silt/clay found in Richmond ROFL

because phase 1 is expected to be completed in 1 or 2 years?  A lot of people still think that the market will go up, esp. when they made the purchase few months ago.  (Yes, some people were able to get into deals before it was open to public.)  These people are trying to sell before completion to make a profit.

But, I don't think we should comment on the settlements.  There are a lot of reason why the oval settles more than expected.  May be, the construction schedule did not allow enough surcharge duration.  May be, they underestimated the foundation load.  My point is, with good engineering, the long-term settlement can be minimized.  And very likely, the engineers working on River Green will look at the data obtained from Oval to further calibrate their settlement model.

Second one what to know more details.  Would that be along the Frazer river?

Why are u surprised?  It is pretty well known.
Also, the ground below is not hard rock.  Where you get this info from?

This is what I find a bit stupid in this society.  People who does not have the background/knowledge always spread wrong information, such as Richmond is liquefaction paradise, Richmond has soft ground.  At one instance, I almost wanted to laugh when I heard some comment from a structural engineer regarding foundation.

Learn to read first, before you start bashing me.
RED means 15 m or more soft or LOOSE soils.
Loose soil is totally different from soil soft.

How am I the person spreading wrong information when I know, and you don't?
