Fraser Institute is well respected in the academic cycle. They are a non profit group and have been around since 1974. A lot of university students write papers to them to practice their skill/knowledge.

The report is based on the fiscal performance of ALL Canadian premiers. Personally, I do not think they are taking or have needs to take any side.

Agree. But unlike other research company, they are not paid to do the work. If I got a bunch of like minded and highly educated people together, I will likewise publish our view, in the hope we are using our knowledge to serve the common good of All Canadians. This is a democracy, each one can have his/her say, that is why you will need to find ways to promote your view and convince others to get acceptance. Selfish and short-sight is harming the democracy we all treasure now.

When we write business papers, their studies are one of our reference sources, but not the ONLY sources.
