If you think a fish tank is already expensive.
I suggest you stay way from this hobby.

For my simple fresh water tank, it is easy to get around $600+

Glass tank is the most easiest to get
Have you think about heater, filter (there are a lot of different types - HOB, External, Under), lighting, substrate, water conditioners, place to put the fish tank etc etc.....

Don't ask, do your homework first.

Yeah. this is what I always see when people buy fishy from Big Als or King Ed.

They choose all different kind of fishes. They buy the tank and accessories at the same time.
How can you put fish into a new setup tank.

Fish can not survive in a newly setup environment.

Another mistake is, people buy many fish for a small tank. Remember 1 fish per 1 gallon rule.
Also, make sure your fish can live with different kinds. Some fishes are very aggressive. You can not put all different type of fishes under the same roof.
