Myversa, the most important thing to keep shrimp is the water parameter. I don't suggest to keep shrimp in a brand new tank. It should be a well aged tank and with crystal clear water.

i am using a blue LED for a 60G tank at home.
i also bought a LED strip from ebay. Nice moon light effect.
