Well, your Canadian 阿爺 here, also want to "own the podium". Therefore, nearly $200 million was invested into the athletes. But now they concede that they cannot beat the US to "own the podium".

Basically they have no obligation to entertain you.  If you don't like to see them play, switch to another channel.

well actually I think the whole event is stupid.  National pride or not, it's just a gimmick to attract viewership.  At the end of the day, MONEY is what counts.
