some of them have that street photography feel, which is something I was too afraid to do.

I hear this all the time, but I don't know what fears people have. But my friend did ask me why everyone let me take their photos but they would walk away from him.

有人中意偏冷，有人中意偏暖，即使是同一張相 (同一個file) , 不同monitor display 出來的顏色也不一樣.

This is a deliberate process to create some sort of funny tint, not just a color balance issue.

Often enough, heavy manipulated color photos appear on fashion magazines.. kind of like processing negative films as slides, etc..!

Most people think (at least that is what most people do) street photography is about taking portra ...

Actually, the current or modern definition of street photography is exactly the type of photos taken in this video. It's an abstract collage of human, environment, repeating patterns and light. I would call the type of portraits you described as street portraits, which is more along the type of stuff I do. When you flip open street photography now, the entire book is based on photos similar to the ones in the video.

The photos in the X Pro 1 blog can hardly be called street photography. They are simply photos of streets, which is not the same as street photography. The technique, concept and approach in those photos are all very basic.

And of course, historically street photography had so many different faces. Helen Levitt was all about elegance and subtlety. Elliott Erwitt is all about humor. Joel Meyerowitz is about street theater and absurdity. Martin Parr is about consumerism and triviality. Andre Kertesz went for abstraction and design. Alex Webb goes for color blocking and light/shadow. Everyone is kind of different.
