    how do you meter with the Protra?

Usually I meter it at 125 or 100 with my eyes.  Given a margin of error of 1/3 of a stop, it could be anywhere from 80 to 160.

I don't use a meter or auto exposure unless the lighting condition is very difficult.  Usually outdoor it's either sunny (15 EV) slightly cloudy (13EV) or very cloudy (11.5-12 EV)

When a shot is underexposed, the color becomes more saturated when you scan. Sometimes it's great for the shot sometimes it's not. My keep rate for 6x6 now is about 50%.
