When I first started working as a low skill office worker in Vancouver, the pay was about that level. Bank CSRs - no idea what they make, but they are not really "office workers".

IT or accountant is a broad industry. There are accountants who make millions as well as some who make nothing. Same for IT. Every year thousands of people graduate from these programs. Of course there are really good people and suckers.
