I agree, the biggest joke of 5d3 is the 61 focusing points!

you just frame your camera and let the camera choose whichever of those 61 points to focus on right?

in the old days when there was only 1 focus point
you focus that point on the spot you want and reframe your shot
right?

so by relying on the whatever 61 focus points
does that mean you can't even do the simple job of using 1 focus point?

by automating every single function in the camera the only thing people can talk about now is composition. But composition itself is so overrated or overly discussed. That's why people always make fun of composition analysis by drawing all those crazy lines and triangles.

if there's only one point you know exactly which point it would be
there's absolutely no confusion there

with 61 points
the camera pretty much "composes" the photo for you
all you need is a donkey pressing the shutter button


yes AF is fast
but only if the point of focus is very obvious
say you are shooting a grid of coca cola bottles
i have no idea which bottle the camera would focus on
it might hunt for years

ya
it's not about which body gives the best image quality
it's more like which camera helps you to get the best shots.
