if it is a food court or cheap restaurant, a dollar is too much.  but if it is a restaurant like icafe, a dollar is ok, since foods from there are expensive already

that was what i thought as well.

as a customer, if i were already paying for a $10 set lunch, i don't mind to pay $1 for the cold drink, only 10% on top.  but if i were in the food court and paying $5 for a set lunch, i would rather to spend the dollar on a coke which i even have an extra drink.  i think most of the restaurants are charging $.5.  some are charging $1 for reg. size and $1.5 for jumbo size.
still remember the old days, people ordered hot drink and ask for separate glass of ice.
