for me, i believe most parents will like to show off how smart are their kids?  but does it really good for the kids.  maybe this is the difference between parents in asia & america.   kids in hk needs to start playgroup in age two and start to learn so many things, so they won't "lost from the started point".  but kids in america mostly just play and enjoy life.
i watched 康熙来了  today, just an co-incidence they talked about baby & 三字經   as well. started from fifth minute.  i don't know what do you mean for "personal", since it is on youtube.  but i don't mean to upset your friend.  if the baby sings a birthday song, i will think it is really sweat.

i just made a feedback after i watched a video which posted on a public forum?  is that what we do all the time?  would you try to understand the background story before you make commend to other's video.  if you really think we should understand the background before we watch the video, you should tell us the story first.  what is your purpose to post this video at lyk or youtube -  show it to the public and expect them to make feedback.  appreciate that you try to pass the happiness around, but sorry i don't feel the happiness and i just honest to my feeling.
not sure about the legal system in hk, but in canada, social service can take your child away from you due to mentally abuse.
"""i didnt mean to say you have lost your cultural roots"""
don't use that to make me feel bad.  for me, understanding is way more important.  how much do you understand the 三字經?  as i believe most of the parents in hk will prefer their kids spend time to learn foreign languages rather than reading & understanding old traditional chinses books.
maybe your friend give you too much pressure, but just tell your friend.  we are not friends, we are just the members or lyk.
if the negative feedback upsets your friend, you should remove the video from the public forums.  the end.
