Due to the short distance between 高鐵 stations, 高鐵 will not be able to run at its maximum speed but slightly faster than the current MTR speed.

As a libertarian, I agree with privatization of trankslink.  Government projects are always uneconomical in the long run.

Right, if price of gasoline moves up again, car drivers will have to spend more.  But this is the choice of car drivers.  Car drivers can reduce the use of car if they think the gasoline price is too high for them.  (The privatized translink is still an available option for those car drivers.)  Moreover, when the gasoline price goes up now, car drivers will have to subsidize the translink's cost of gasoline price.  This means the car drivers are taxed twice.

You are pathetic.  You don't even know the role of government in the society.  Government is not supposed to earn money.  The cost of roads and highways maintenance can be collected thru the tax on gasoline.  Some highways may be privatized.  Even now, people have to pay for them anyway when the highways and roads are funded by the government.

Pollutants from cars.  what pollutants??  which substances from the gasoline?  You made no point.

We should allow heath care industry in the private sector too.

Subsidization happens in every sector and layer of society.  It's impossible to eliminate subdization completely.
So I don't agree that transit should be the one to get rid of.

How much of those "pollutants" are produced?  What level of "pollutants" is sufficient of causing cancer?  The fluoride added in water increases the risk of cancer.  Do you still drink water everyday?

2009 is the year of global cooling.  We should burn more fossil fuel.  Otherwise, human race will be extinct due to the coming ice age.

I know the privatization is not likely to happen in this world.  We are waiting for the world economy to explode.
