It is because of corruption, because there is no other force that monitor the government, that's why these things happen.   

Think about it, do you think this will happen if the government not being corrupted and put individual citizen health & safety in top priority?

If the government is not elected, why the hell the government will respect the right of each individual as #1?  If I'm a top officer and I'm not elected NOR government counsel is not elected, and I have control of media, and  no other authorize and balance my power.  I am sure will get as much money as I can with ANY method.  Then I just go to other places with money.  At the end, money is the king.   Especially, if the government system is not following the law, I will be scared that if I lose my power, I will be killed by my rivals in the governemnt.  Of course, what I will do is get $ $$$$$ in a short period of time and then leave.  There is no doubt.

Of course, Democracy doesn't mean no corruption. I've never said that.   But a well-established democracy system provides a way for the poor and civilian a way to affect the decision making of people with power.

Without Decomcracy, there is 99% of chance with democracy.  with Democracy, there is 50% of chance.

You can pick Philippine or other countries, but you cannot deny that people living in US, Canada, Europe, with established democracy system have a better way to voice out, and more opportunity to advance in the political sector.
