so if use color paper stock or scrapbook paper just fold it in half?

depends on the size and shape of the resulting card that you wish to make.
Sometime threefold or more special fold as well.

BTW scrapbuddies, I bought a scoring board at Lansdowne Home Sense on Wed.  It's only $9.99 and good for scoring cards and envelopes...
