once I taught some US visiting students to make油炸鬼同腸粉
the material expense for油炸鬼 was $10 plus 30 Kilo of oil,
they made 60 油炸鬼, and they turned out alright, the only problem was to deal
with the oil

You will thick twice when you see the 2 big bucket of oil,
it is more that the water you use for bathtub.

your house would smells like yau tiel for 6-10 days!

A friend of mine can do very nice Shan Dong style油炸鬼, better than mine for sure.
Too bad he would do it only for fun.
