Bird's nest is more a "belief" remedy,
it is true that it is high in protein, but you can get protein elsewhere.
The University of  Boston Medical School has done a 5 years study on
Chinese medicine, and the result is that the contain very little nutrient
other than protein. A standard dose of bird nest would be equivalent to
the protein from 3 regular eggs without the cholesterol.
Yes, the rich C9 would claim that eating  it would keep them young

Not if you are serving All Bird's Nest Feast,
   will cost you $3,000-$4,500 a table easily;
and no one will dare to call you cheap

It is rather bland, most rich C9 steam it in papaya for breakfast
everyday.
Or make a soup with Chinese ham

Back in 80's, live abalone was so cheap($4.00 per pound) in Vancouver,
the Chinese cleared the market, lead to the almost extinct of the species
and it became illegal to catch abalone in BC.  30 years elapsed and the
damage has not recover. It was caused by Asian, mostly Chinese.
In fact, I think Chinese is the only race obsessed with abalone, Japanese
use few abalone for sashima. The rest of the world? most people never
try in their lifetime.

What happen to the grizzy bears,
they get killed for their galls then left for other animals' feast
