It is not about revenge, it is about facing reality and admitting mistake.

The communist spokesperson  Yuan Mok proclaimed:
"The PLA did not open fire, there were no student  casaulty  during the Clearing the Tienanmen Square Mission"
Who was lying?? I was born in China but I find it difficult to trust communist.
The person was removed from his position because even the hardliners found his announcement hard to believe.

Let's get back to the track, the focus is not how good the Communist is doing now
and the important of the rise of Chinese power.
it is about the ignorance they behave,  it does not matter exactly how many people
were killed, maybe there were only a few.  The problem is their attitude:
Their standard answer is " We have had the conclusion way back then" which is
not convincing and acceptable at all.  In this case, I would compare the communist to the Japanese right-wing politician too. It is only through sincere admitting the fault and acceptance of the consequences would lift their  historic burden, and be forgiven by its people.
We had a large turn-out at Vancouver to protest 8964, it was when I met Raymond
Chan and shared the same vision as concerned Chinese Canadian, unfortunately
many of the community leaders changed gear in exchange of personal benefit, and
eventually corrupted.

Please do not try to test my memory,
I watched the TVB and ATV news in Vancouver the whole month.
First, the light was out, the gunfires started, along with cannons,
they students and local people escaped many  in chaos, many  many
of them were severely wounded and run for life. The  video clips lasted
until June 5th then everything was censored.
It was a heart-breaking scene I will never forget for the rest of my life.
I have been living in Canada for over 30 years and I have relatives in
Hong Kong and China. I believe in truth not fancy words. I'm not simple
and naive anymore.
If they want to be the world leader, first thing for them   to learn is to face
and admit  the fault  they made and plead for the forgiveness from the people they rule, instead of misleading us.

I'm  surfing the net in a Caucasian(Canadian) business office  so I have to  type English when co-workers are around.
What you say is exactly  what Your Chinese Government want you to say :
"Stability prevails everything, the strong image of Chinese as a great nation is crucial"
but it not my value, a good government is built on faith and honest to their people.
The Chinese education machine teach students that they must obey and trust their government,  that everything they do is for the well-being of the people.
Allow me to remind you, if you ever heard about it: the Communist won the regime by defeating the KMT government, with the death of millions of innocent Chinese people.
We did not elect the government at our own accord. Only in China that you would think everything they do are  REASONABLE, including  mass execution  (instead of Massacre) simply because it the what education is all about in China.  I was born in China too but now I despise the Chinese government.

分析问题要站在历史的角度上去分析,你了解那时候的军队吗?你知道那时候当兵有多光荣吗??光荣一词是什么意思?为什么那么多人愿意去当兵?那时候的兵称为人民子弟兵。

The website you suggested is still  a regional site in China, what is the accountability like? I'm not sure.  So you are one of the  "Enlightened young Chinese" with global
vision, good for you. But only when you live outside China then you would know what
exactly the "Outside world " is, and you can look at your own country from different perspective.

You sound like an "Open-minded scholar"  from China, just curious
why you chose to post in LYK forum, where most members are
Cantonese and English speaking young people(except me) and live
in Canada?

Reason #1 actually worries me, if they know they have done wrong but refusing to apologize, I would say

1. They value their "face" more their innocent citizens' lives

2. The government personnels  ...
