I thought you don't pay HST if you buy over 6 pieces,
not necessary the multiple of 6

And I think only the sweetened buns and pastries are subjected to tax,
my favourite artisan bread , crusty rolls are not taxable.

NO, I never been charged for HST/GST when I buy plain bread,
crusty roll, french bread, Multi-grain bread.
On the other hand, cocktail buns, Cha Siu Bao are classified as pastries
which is subjected to GST since 1991
