I like Iromwood Library better, everything is new; and better mix of users too.
I seldom hearing  loud speakers there.
In other Richmond library, the library would advise the public: it is alright to
use cellphone in library, just to keep the voice normal. I do not think it is right,
especially  if they were talking in foreign language other than English and French,
Please be considerate and show some respect.

Please read the post carefully:  Talking in High Pitch on cellphone is not appropriate in the public, especially in a language the majority do not understand.
Would you dare to do it in an Opera or Supreme Court?
I know you work hard trying to convince people that everything Chinese is superior, but it is not helping.
I talk to Caucasian that Tibet is part of Chinese, and how Dala Lama is misleading the world. I tell Chinese
drivers in Chinatown to be respectful and do not double-park with the ignition on while waiting for their spouse shopping. Telling senior ladies not to break the ginger root and stuff the Extra-large eggs in the Medium size cartons to save a few cents. My advices surely would not be appreciated. Now you can call me call me racist.

I speak Chinese in the library, when some people from China who cannot speak English
but would need to access the Richmond Library English Learning Program on the net, I would ask for permission then guide them through registration and log-on, in normal speaking tune.
What I do not agree with is that people shout out  loud to conduct  lengthy cellphone conversation.  To me, it is nuisance to fellow library user in any language,  not racial issue.  I spotted East Indian shoppers allowing their kids to open the candy bar and eat in supermarket  with no intention of paying, I pity them but it is the  right thing  to do so? or is it a racial discrimination issue? Please  also  refer to other threads on Human Right.

I speak to my wife in Chinese at the library too, but not yelling. My point is,
keep private conversations private, unless you are popping the question: WILL YOU MARRY ME
