haha, the 2nd one is easier to understand if it added punctuations (there should be... dunno why it wasn't included....) let me show u what it means:

we learned lines like these but in ENG 12 class, the teacher wrote: "Was it a bar or a bat I saw?" He said, the words "bar" and "bat" has more than one meaning, so it depends on how the person interprets it....
ie) bar: one can imply a bar as in place that sells alcoholic drinks or just a bar as the physical object; similar for "bat" as in baseball bat.... or the scary bats in caves....
