If you are going to fu*k the teachers

Send one to the top guys of BC Ferries, ICBC, CMHC, Translink, No 1,2,3 guys at HK SAR Gov.  It will be more productive.

Teachers' "greed" is about having a roof over his head and having food on the table and at the very minimum they babysit our kids for $4500 net.

I would say these guys at BC Ferries, CMHC and the like actually have -ve productivity.  Worse yet, these guy also educated you that everyone is greedy if they want 5% rate raise (hardly match inflation) while they are getting millions.

$4500/mo is greed? Inflation adjusted raise is greed?

Get you head a shake, and put things in perspective.

If Professional jobs which require professional degrees/skills cannot afford a middle class wages, do you think we have a problem in this city, my friends?

TOP

1. I am not a teacher, nor am I pissed.
2. Are I willing to pay more for teacher's raise?  What is your logic here?  Can you order a fillet mignon and you only want to pay for cheese burger prices? Go ask Rob Feenie
3.  Raise tax/debt.  What is your logic here?  Maybe we should cancelled public education, because that way we can pay less taxes?

The discussion so far here is:  "If I am not pay properly, nobody should".  It sure make sure we race to the bottom very fast.  Try thank about  "How can we insure everyone is paid a living wage" once a while.

Middle Class is losing ground very fast for the last 10-15 years.  Petty soon we are going back to dog-eat-dog day.

"so either cut some services, or raise debt, or raise tax.  What do you want? DF"

It never seize to amazed me people buy the "more public services mean higher tax for YOU" propaganda.   When the real problem is related to the fairness of the tax system.  Mitt Romney would love to have more people like you.

Before calling others DF, try to think independently once awhile.  I can see why you are so disapproval of teachers, as they failed to teach you basic reasoning.

1) Yes and no, I wouldn't mind paying more Property Taxes to fund education, but no personal income increases until the problems in my answer no. 2 are fixed.
2) For starters, change how capital gains are taxed, and get rid of Carried Interest.

Before you threaten me with more taxes, do yourself a flavor by finding out income tax rate + payroll taxes rate for working people and those of a hedge fund manager.  But that is properly too advance for you, because it is not chewed and spoon feed to your month.  It does require facts checking using google search engine.

If you are the subject teachers are dealing with, the rates for psychiatrists apply here.

Minister of Education says that they save $11 million each day because of the teachers' strike
sheep 發表於 2012-3-7 14:44

For 11 million dollar =  TD bank CEO for a year.

I am sure Ed Clark works very hard, hourly rate wise, by Jan 2, TD bank CEO will earn annual salary of a Teacher.  Call it greed or whatever, these people are just trying to make ends meet here in Vancouver.

It is not bank robbery, so hold your horses.

Your are demands put on a bargining table.  Very few of them will materialized.

Deputy Minister of Eduction has 40% raise in pass 5 yr. to a cool 1/4 million, plus expenses of $130k/ year.

45k is high, depending on what talents you want to attached.

A grandma charges $3/hr to babysit.  She will chew the lunch first and split it to kids month.  Fresh and easy to digest, that's pretty much your kids educations.

Hire CSR for banks as teacher, so the kids will have a head start working in call centres.
