HI everyone,

I am from Chinese Restaurant Awards "CRA". U can call me Stanley. A friend of mine told me there is a thread at here talking about our awards project. We are glad to receive attention/interest from all of you. At the same time, we would like to clarify few points to try to answer your concerns.

1/ The project's purpose is to promote Chinese culinary culture and highlight the signature dishes which deserves the most annually. Our 2009 event did have received more highlights in mainstream market. This 2010, our 2nd time, we would like to welcome more and more Chinese food lovers! That's why LYK is one of our marketing platforms.

2/ The Diners' Choice Awards are for you all public diners to vote for your most favorite Chinese Restaurants in the 15 categories of this year. We shortlisted up to 20 best restaurants in each categories. We believe diners' voices are always encouragement to induce more restaurants to do better; therefore we have all these awards to reflect your choices.  For instance, we have 2 of the new categories for the 2010 event: best service restaurant and best environment restaurant. Let's tell us which restaurant gives you the most impressive service! & which restaurant's dining environment you like the most!  The voting period has started last Wed and will end on Nov 15. Cast your votes now!

Unlike other awards event, we do not only reward the restaurants. For the Critics' Choice Signature Dish Awards, our 8 food critics have been secretly tasting in hundreds of Chinese restaurants from July till now to select the 50 best Signature Dishes for the 2010! We hope you will enjoy our recommended list of Signature Dishes when the result will be announced next year on Jan 27.

p.s. CRA is a *fair* & *neutral* Chinese restaurant awards project. We do not accept partnership from Chinese restaurants. You are welcome to check out our partner list anytime on our website.

Everyone can be a food critic! There is no event can have perfect success at the beginning.

Thanks for your reminder. This is an unacceptable error to us for sure. Just checked again and you are correct. We will take this off. Relax did have good tofu pudding. and You can actually find on the list that we include few bubble tea places which have good tofu pudding or in-house made dessert.  

These short listed are decided by the panel of judges and CRA committee who love Chinese food and they are just like any consumers in the city. They nominated the shortlisted restaurants by their consumer recognition and through consumer research.

We are considering a nomination system for general consumers for next year as well. There would be a huge nominee list by public for sure. We are refining the idea.

I believe you were looking into our Dining Guide 2009. All result in Dining Guide 2009 were announced in Jan 2009 as a guide for 2009. & Right now the critics are working on 2010 chapter to select the best signature dishes for the year 2010.

怡園 won the best King Crab for 2009 chapter. We announced the 2009 chapter result on Jan 15, 2009 already. The critics for 2009 chapter result had secret tasting last year. I had to say I was invited to taste the King Crab at 怡園 too in Oct 2008. We were lucky. They had King Crab in their tank. You can try your luck in Oct/Nov too in few restaurants I believe.

Thanks for your interest. We have the most voted box on the front page that reflects the most voted 3 restaurants of each category anytime during the voting period. The final result will be announced on Nov 16. Voting deadline is Nov 15.

According to the voting number, best hot pot restaurant, best taiwanese bbt/cafe and best bbq shop/restaurant have very stable most voted result every day. We believe the most voted in these 3 categories may be the very leading of diners' choice. But, we won't know until the last voting date.

We welcome any opinion and suggestion anytime. Please keep voting and spread the words. Support the Chinese culinary culture in metro Vancouver! Thank you.
