Most of the HKer have already succeeded in blending into the local culture and environment, so you don't see them stand out in Vancouver area (occasionally yes, otherwise, not really).

there's only a small percentage of them moved back to HK since, but otherwise, most of them settled down nicely.

The reason why you hear mandarin speaking folks more is because (a) the surge of them as recent migrants stand out; (b) they haven't fully blend in into the society yet (thus they tend to stand out).

1st thing you should do is to get the hepatitis A and B vaccine called Twinrix.

It's avail from local pharmacy and you must get it and bring it along to your family physician to inject.

I'd rather get all these injections done before the trip...knowing full well that Hep-B is a common infection from HK, mainland and various Asian countries.
