knew that long, long time ago-automobile pollution (thus the alternating license plate methods in Beijing and Shanghai, etc.), coal burning power plants, metal melting plants, etc. underground aquifers polluted by industrial pollutants, pesticides, etc. rivers and streams polluted by all kinds of chemicals, heavy metals, etc. people died of cancers of all kinds because some of them (esp. poor peasants and farmers, etc.) they don't have  a choice nor the mobility to move away.

Guess what? this is still happening...and the citizens are paying for the price.
