Quest

Got the news that LD, Zellers, and certain regional Wallymart are accepting Playtex, Nuby, Avent baby products and it wasn't until just now that after reading Wa-mei-zi's posting RE: #3Rd LD accepting bottles that I just rushed out with all my baby stuff.

Got over 130 bux back with the following:

one Microwave steriliser
2 smaller Avent bottles
6 larger Avent bottles (9 Oz)
1 Playtex sippy cup
1 playtex small sippy cup
1 small Avent sippy cup
1 large Nuby sippy cup
1 small Nuby sippy cup
1 pair (still in original package) of Avent sippy cup nipples

Note: you have to haggle with the supervisor on some of the Avent products in order to get a full priced refund, otherwise, she may ended up pairing them up in packages of 2 (at least so she claimed for you have no more Avent products on LD's shelves to reference to so beware).

I guess I got the most refund out of all LYK moms so far.

And I think I lost about 15 bux so far (compared to the new purchase price for all the units returned). My philosophy is that while the loss is small, it is still to our advantage to be able to return them for a *partial* refund for as this BPA banning subject matter becomes more sensitive over time, the likeliness of being able to get rid of these questionable plastics will become challenging as most recycling facilities cannot handle these plastics, and the maker may not take them back based on "good-will" practice.

Loose a little bit of $$ and be able to pass the ball back to someone else in an environmentally-conscious way, what more can I ask for?

(* of course, now I need to figure out how to spend that refund I got from LD....*)

BTW: call me LYK daddy... *grin*



p.s. still has a handpump (on-loan to my wifey's sister) and a 2ndary steriliser that perhaps I can refund later this week......
