How much do you think they earn?

What do you think of the "status" of their profession? (e.g. Compared to Doctors, Lawyers, Dentists etc)

What do you think their job duty is like?

Have you heard of any of the "professional" accounting titles?

I keep hearing about CGA, CMA , CA. So confusing. I wonder why there are three accounting titles in Canada.

From what I heard, CMA is the best right since they are doing managerial accounting?
A friend who is studying CMA told me the order of prestige is ranked like this.
CMA >CGA >CA

I think CA is not a popular title right? Seems like CMA and CGA are much more popular and recognized.

It's very easy to tell whether a designation is more prestigious or not.  You just look at its members, and the time/intelligence/effort it takes to obtain the designation.

Are you really sure a CA is better?
I open the Chinese Newspapers and all the ads I see are for CGA who provide accounting services.
I haven't seen a CA ad yet.

Also, my CMA friends said all his colleagues (all analysts doing costings) are also CMA who got their title while working.
If CA is really better, I am sure he would have studied that at his company instead.

基本上加拿大大部份會計工作(audit除外)都會聘請CGA/CMA/CA﹐所以你讀咩都好﹐其實都可能做同一份工。有D工$40K﹐有D工$80K﹐有D工$120K﹐因人而異。所以你問accountant揾到幾多 ...

I did some research. The salary surveys also show breakdown by each province.
There are very very few designated individuals who earn less than 40k.


Moreover, I also disagree with regarding that there is no difference in the designation that you choose since some jobs require you to have a specific designation.
