VSB narrows down possible school closures

Be the first to Comment 1 Recommendation(s) VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - The Vancouver School Board has named the five Vancouver elementary schools that could be closed as soon as next year.
Sir Guy Carleton Elementary, Champlain Heights Annex, Sir William Macdonald Elementary, McBride Annex, and Queen Alexandra Elementary are the schools at risk of being closed. A decision is expected to be made in December.
Trustees narrowed down the closure list from 11 named on a preliminary list released in June.
The board is dealing with a multi-million dollar budget shortfall and closing schools is seen as a way of saving a significant amount of cash.
