What exactly does Velocity 1 teach? I've been to performance driving classes, just want to know how much of the content might be of repeat.

This is the AutoX event that I've went to a few times so far. Organized by BMWCCBC but does not limit you to BMW cars. Anybody can join. Hosted by BMWCCBC and Drivings Unlimited. You get about 50 runs a day for $140. Held also at BC Driving Center. This year there are 4 events and so far 2 already went by.

When it was hold back at Boundary Bay, it used to be divided up into 3 sections: slalom, 180 + cross-over, and G-circle.  These 3 are basic elements in any auto-x course.  Each student will repeat p ...

So I guess this is more AutoX performance oriented, not so much as 'safety/collision avoidance' as some of the other offerings are out there? What I mean are those ones held by Drivings Unlimited (which BMWCCBC coordinates with) at BCDC. Tons of those Vision exercises, and they can't time your AutoX times (timing event are not covered by insurance where they claim that if named as collision avoidance courses with no timing, it retains your coverage at the venue)

And pics didn't show last time. Google killed the links

Sigh... My best run got a +1 for hitting a cone... The stupid cone in the L shape starting area BEFORE THE TIMER STARTS.... Sux....

And I got beat out by a 2010 Mazda 3 and a Civis Si.... argh.....

Ah well, at least I'm not dead last even though I plough through so many cones on one of the runs that I got a DNF for it @@.

How do you read those Best Idx and stuff anyways?

Don't worry about the time. I think it's more important to have fun. Time is secondary.

Aren't we guaged by so many metrics in life enough, that we don't need another metric to be imposed on us? (in this case competing for AutoX times).

Important thing is have fun, learn how to drive your car better and appreciate what your car can do (that you really shouldn't do on public roads LOL).

no need to compete with others, just compete with yourself.
relax and just try your best, seeing yourself getting faster and faster
