The US have used their war machine to weaken it's opponent, including China via indirect ways, numerous times already. With one of the latest being Libya where both China and Russia have investments and oil ownership there.

North Korea is a major way the US can stir up conflict directly in Asia. Whether such conflict will scale up to World War III no one knows. But declining countries often do desperate attempts to prevent the next power from reaching it's throne. Even tho it's usually futile attempts, but it's tough to not say that many people often die in such processes...

Hopefully my prediction is incorrect and there will be less and less conflicts going forward... but I am not going to be overly optimistic about this particular scenario...

I know one good excuse, US can try to lure North Korea to use some nuclear weapon and do some killin ...

They don't need to lure North Korea to do anything. It's a fact that they have nukes. With this as 'justification', that a 'rouge' state is holding WMD, US can always march in if they want to, possibly even with UN backing (until China use veto of course). Just that this time they have no gain from such invasion, with the only aim being to lure China in. If NK is 'invaded', China will be in a really tough position and forced to fight against the US.
