Always say law enforcement here just serves their ego. Even more dangerous and unreasonable than HK/Mainland law enforcement, which acts out of political motives as ordered from their seniors/bosses. At least you know you can avoid situations in HK/China by avoiding political sensitive issues, which majority of the citizens won't get into anyways.

Here you can be power tripped by doing almost anything. In terms of sense of security for honest citizens in dealing with authorities, it's much superior in HK and China vs here.

Accountability and EQ is much lacking here for law enforcement in North America in general.

I don't know about the former. In terms of executive/judicial/legislative independence, i'd trust North America a little more.

Within just the executive branch, including law enforcements, I'd trust HK a LOT more.

Sometimes the racism is hidden. My company is international, more than the fair share of the upper brass/executives are whites. Yet at the bottom of the food chain, more than fair share are Chinese. Not straight out racism, but the effect is there.
