The problem in the US is the pendulum swing too far to the democratic side and they have a two party system. Everything is put up for debate and every issue has two powerful lobby groups to pull the law makers to their side. There are too many opportunities for wrong doing and the monitor system is not able to catch up.
US is democratic as all issues are open. However, they are NOT democratic, as you can only vote for GOP or Democrat
The situation in Canada is better than the US, as the Canadian lobby groups are not as powerful and we have multiple political parties. Not only the system is monitoring for the corruption, the monitoring between parties is stronger. |
