Have you formally informed the Hong Kong government that you are giving up HK citizenship? If you were born in Hong Kong, then you are eligible for a HK Identity Card. Any passport is only a travel document.
The Hong Kong government is not going to automatically cancel your HK citizenship and HK ID card, even if you have acquired a foreign citizenship. You have to formally tell them you are giving up HK citizenship, otherwise you are still technically a Hong Kong citizen, and therefore a Chinese national.

This is ONLY true if one is in China and it is purely PRC Government's view.   This means nothing outside of China.

By definition 有楓葉卡 is resident and NOT Canadian.
