Have you formally informed the Hong Kong government that you are giving up HK citizenship? If you were born in Hong Kong, then you are eligible for a HK Identity Card. Any passport is only a travel document.
The Hong Kong government is not going to automatically cancel your HK citizenship and HK ID card, even if you have acquired a foreign citizenship. You have to formally tell them you are giving up HK citizenship, otherwise you are still technically a Hong Kong citizen, and therefore a Chinese national.
