you make your site, you can have your rules. but on the other hand, you want noise & traffic for your site, but you ban those who provide it to you. if you wanna selectively filter out all the bad a ...

the thing is...Admin never asked for increase in noise or traffic...it's not like he asked for anyone's help and then told them they broke the rules and kicked them out.

i just think that..LYK is a place for those that fit into what Admin wants as an audience. And a lot of people don't fit that target audience, therefore he has the power to kick those out that don't fit. LYK is like any other gated community...you come in, they tell you the rules..if you break any rules or don't fit in (according to the owner, in this case, Admin), then you get warned..and if you keep repeating what is not accepted, you get kicked out.

Unless everyone pays for the bandwidth and the website, I don't think we have any say in who we think should belong in here and who we think should stay. Admin paid for this website, he knows what and who he wants as members..and he has set out rules. If you don't agree, then don't join and don't come in and try to fight the system.

if you want to talk in offensive language or slang or even swear words, you might as well search for another forum that fits your need and also see you as an asset. I think golden is a good example of where most of the banned members would fit as a target audience.

I don't understand why everyone is blaming Admin for creating a forum and then saying there's no freedom of speech..etc etc. Shouldn't we be 感激 that Admin contribute his time and money in creating a place for those that want to share/contribute (of course according to Admin's standards and POV)? Instead of 感激, those who got kicked/banned are 責怪 Admin for being a dictatorship. It's HIS forum, not ours. He welcomed us into his own private space (it's a private space because it requires a membership) and therefore he has the right to limit the membership and/or take memberships away if certain members are not adhering to his rules.

What else is there to understand and argue about? It's not OUR forum, it's HIS. He can do whatever he likes. And he welcomed you into his forum but now you're turning the finger against him saying he has an attitude problem for trying to filter members that he doesn't like?

on the other hand, I think LYK should have a forum function like some other forums I go to...a function to block out certain member's post if we don't want to see them. Another forum I go to, you can choose to filter posts so you can skip a certain member's posts if you don't want to see them...that way, if someone finds someone else's posts offensive, they can filter out that member's posts in all threads in the future so they don't have to deal with it.

but that is your personal opinion...if you find this forum boring, you can choose not to come and read

there are members that still come to this forum regardless of how "boring" or "conservative" it seems

LYK still appeals to a certain audience...so why shut it down because it doesn't interest you?
