you're sure it's 腳瘡..? and not a cut..??
is your bunny licking on it a lot??
as far as i know.. no vets in the vaec are capable of treating rabbits =\
you shouldn't be too worried la. as long as your bunny is still acting and eating normally. it'll heal eventually
try to keep his living area clean~ especially the litter box so the pee/poop won't irritate his foot. and watch for sharp areas (like edges of the cage/ little box etc..) cover those areas with towels~~
as for the wound... use polysporin~ or any antibiotic ointment..~ just use the regular one, not the extra strength. but as little on it as possible cuz you know the bunny'll lick it off... but a little is fine.. we've used it on our hamsters and bunny and all the wounds have healed

and for vets in rmd. i would say NO...
during the last day or so with my bunny i called just about every single vet in richmond cuz like you, i dun want my bunny to suffer from the stress they get from car rides..
and i saw from vrra that there's a new bunny vet in rmd
Dr. Martinez
Little Paws Animal Clinic
130 – 12011 2nd Ave.
Richmond, BC
604 241-7387
BUT. when i called and asked a few questions like i did with all the other vets, the girl who i spoke to was NOT FRIENDLY at all... i hope it was just that individual la.

but yeah~ i dun think you should worry too much. bunnies get small cuts on their feet from time to time... as long as their behaviours are normal they should be fine. just keep them really clean..!~

my bunny got more sores on his feet as he got older. but mainly because towards his last year or so he wasn't able to hold his pee so much so a lot of times he'd just pee where he's sitting and he will just step on it... resulting in urine burn at the end. one time for that little patch of flesh with no skin, he got a cut from the wood pellets in his litter box. but that healed pretty quickly. we had to give him a butt/feet wash almost every day to keep him clean... but for the last 2-3 months things got really bad.. he had almost no fur on one of his foot... 心痛=(

.. even though we brought our bunny to dr potter.. i actually dun like her that much. she's kinda rough and has not much patience..?
one time we asked for dr potter but got dr mcewen instead (her daughter). she's younger but more gentle..

and speaking of vets. i want to share this with all of you too. about 6 months or so we brought barni to dr potter to see if she had a better solution to barni's urine burn problems. she suggested that we shave all the hair off his legs and areas near his private parts so it's easier to clean and so the fur isn't always constantly wet with urine. (michele the rabbit boarding lady had her bunny benji shaved too so we thought ok sure we can do that). so dr potter leaves and said she'll get one of her nurses to shave barni. so a nurse comes in, she looked very young... and she was supposed  to carry barni off to another room so they can shave him. but for us that handle rabbits everyday we know how to pick up a rabbit, and how NOT to let a rabbit kick like crazy. but the nurse that came in had no idea how to pick up our bunny. she was in slow motion so of course our bunny'd jump away. so WE pick up barni and hand it to her... i was already worried and i actually regret it very much. she did not seem like she knew how to handle rabbits at all.
so half an hour later they said it's done and we didn't check on barni cuz he was already in the carrier and we just wanted to bring him home asap.
and we go home and we let him out... and it seemed like barni was LIMPING. he had never seen him like that... he was kinda dragging his leg or both legs and wasn't jumping like a rabbit should... PLUS he refused to eat anything. i got really worried so i called w. blvd to ask if anything went wrong and they just said no. so i told them the situation and they said nthg went wrong, barni was never dropped.. and even suggested that we go back to them.. -_-...... i refused right away and they said they'll call back to check on us but they never did.
so we force fed barni for a week and thank goodness he got better... as for his leg. ever since that time every now and then it'd seem like his leg(s) is bothering him... one day he'd be ok.. the next he'd look weird...
until the 1.5 months... every now and then he'd seem to have lost control of his leg(s).. he won't jump and will only drag his leg.. =\ 真係念起都好心痛.... =( the weird part was that one day he'd jump normally.. but the next he'd be limping...
i mean i have no real evidence to say that w blvd is responsible... but it just seems to be such a coincidence that we have never noticed anything until that vet visit lor...

another thing.. since 2 of you mentioned that you did/do go to arbutus west.
i think there's a vet there with the last name of brondwin...?
i've had a bad experience with him too.
it wasn't with my bunny.. i had a dwarf hamster years ago, and she had a huge lump on one of her legs. so we brought her there to see dr brondwin cuz i rmb i did some research and supposedly he's a good vet for rodents.
when he was checking on my hammy he SQUEEZED the lump really firmly it scared the heck out of me. my hamster was squirming like crazy when he did that... and when we got home there was liquid all around the lump but there was no wound on the lump (not like a pimple)... it seemed like he squeezed water out from the surface or sthg.. very scary.. he was so harsh and rough...

不過講真.. i've never met a vet that i thought was EXPERIENCED AND GENTLE... it's like these 2 qualities do not exist together... =\
we've also been to dr anderson (on granville) once. i think it was our bunny's first vet visit. we picked hiim cuz he's closer to richmond. but he was very rough too... and expensive.
dr mcewen and dr rana (lansdowne vet.. we brought our other hamsters there a couple of times. but he's not really a small animal vet) are more gentle...
oh and the one at eagleridge is fairly nice too. but too far away.

argh i hate it when they get someone who aren't familiar with rabbits to look at bunnies. it's so obvious to us whether or not they're rabbit savvy or not.......... they just can't fake it.
it's true that dr potter is very experienced i guess. you're right how she's quick. but she's not very patient..? when she wanted to check on barni's teeth.. she tried for like... 10 secs max and said barni wouldn't stay still she she can't check it thoroughly and suggested that we give her anesthetics so she can check her teeth..!? erm... -_- and i hated how she got her inexperienced nurse to carry barni off to the other room...... god knows what happened after that =(
