Me too...same problem...I am debating whether to trade in my 10-year old car to get a new one this year, or should I wait until it can't be driven any more. (probably it can last another 3 or 4 years). But the problem is, mean while it can cost a lot to fix. Since I got barely enough cash to afford a new car, should I save it (which my rational side tells me to), or get a nice new car now....sigh..tough decision.

That's true. However, if you are single and don't buy this "topless" car now... it will be even harder to make the decision to buy new car after you have family (or prepare to have family) la....

Thanks for all the advice la. Usually it takes about 1.5 to 2 years for my car to go back to service. And each service won't be just "oil change" la...most likely changing brake, or timing belt or other stuff as you mentioned. I estimate around $1500 for each visit so probably around 3K for next 3 years (provided no other "big" things got broken). If I don't buy the car and keep those chunk of $ on my hand, most likely I can generate more income (even I put into saving account I get some interest $ la)...so that's why it's not an easy decision for me. Nevertheless, my current state of mind is exactly like this title - 身痕 because if I don't have this amount of $ on hand, I won't even think about getting new car now at all. Now that I save up some cash, I was 身痕 to spend it rather than save it...sigh...
