今時今日邊份工guarantee5％ increase every year？我都真係好想做。做老師辛苦係人都知，唔好話入職嘅時候唔知喎，唔通真係諗住朝九晚五收得工？而且份人工係做十個月，唔係做足一年。summer再去打summer job又得，嘆唞吓又得。算係咁啦。一班得嗰三十靚人都唔知有無，我以前一班都45人啦，老師咪又係咁教，學生咪又係咁學。

    There are many professional jobs that can't get $75000 either. Accountant is professional, pharmacist is also professional. Vancouver is expensive city to live, everybody knows. When many of us don't have that 5% increase every year, it's just not the right time to ask that much. I think 4% is more reasonable.

"Here are facts gathered from BCTF....

BCTF's demand back in September :
•A 22% increase in salary (the maximum would move from $74,353 to $90,944 a year).
•Doubling high school prep time from one spare per rotation to two; and increasing elementary prep time from 90 minutes per week to 357. Plus: two days off to write report cards, plus one hour off per individual student interim report.
• Up to 10 days off for the death of any friend or relative—plus two days more if travel is involved.
• Sick leave provisions for Teachers On call.
• Up to 26 weeks of fully paid leave per year to provide direct or indirect compaasionate care to any person.
• Eight days off a year whenever a teacher wants.
• Topping up parental and maternity leave to allow up to 5 years of leave per child.
• 5 more days off for professional development, at teacher’s discretion.
• Up to five days off a year to care for their child or any other person.
• Unlimited leave for teachers for union business.
• Big benefits upgrades—fully pay MSP, extended health and dental, applying to all teachers (no matter how many hours they work).
• Employer pays all professional fees.
• A number of improvements to Teacher On Call pay, including paying them $2,200 per month whether they work or not.
• Retirement bonus of 5% a year to any teacher with 10 years or more service at age 55. "

Huh...it's GOOD to be teacher eh?

Teacher get 2.5% to 0% in the pass few yr. Base salary for new teachers is 45K.

    so as many people...2.5% increase to 0%...and entry level of $45K is not bad either.

Depends on where you comparing to?

Here, I don't think entry level CSR in bank can make that much.

I would say $45K is decent to start with. Not everyone make that much initially.

    除非公司真係無你唔得，又或者自己有後路。I mean, if one is really outstanding employee then it's ok to bargain. A lot of teachers are great but I won't say all.
